Bachelor’s Degree in Radiology

Studying Radiologic Technology Abroad

A Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology abroad offers students the opportunity to pursue their academic path in Europe, especially for those who face limited access to programs in their home countries.

Entrance exams in some national systems have become a growing barrier to education, leading more and more students each year to choose an international university instead.

This decision is proving to be particularly rewarding thanks to recent European regulations, which make the recognition of degrees earned abroad increasingly straightforward and transparent. As a result, graduates can return home or build their careers anywhere in Europe with confidence.

What Does a Radiologic Technologist Do and What Are the Career Opportunities?

A Radiologic Technologist is a highly trained healthcare professional specialising in diagnostic imaging. Working closely with radiologists, they are responsible not only for performing imaging exams but also for ensuring the correct functioning of equipment, managing patient interaction, monitoring safety procedures, and handling the secure transfer and storage of images and reports in compliance with privacy regulations.

Because of the wide scope of their role, radiologic technologists require comprehensive medical and technical training to be fully prepared for their responsibilities.

This is why earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology abroad represents a valuable opportunity: programs combine both theoretical foundations and hands-on clinical practice, ensuring graduates are job-ready from day one.

Career Opportunities

After graduation, radiologic technologists can work in:

  • Public and private diagnostic centres

  • Hospitals and specialised imaging units

  • Medical device companies, focusing on the production, installation, and maintenance of diagnostic equipment

  • Research institutions, especially in fast-growing areas such as nuclear medicine and advanced imaging technologies

This diversity of options makes radiologic technology one of the most dynamic and promising healthcare professions in Europe today.

Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology Abroad: Recognition of the Qualification

Thanks to the Bologna Process and EU Directive 2005/36/EC, there is no longer any doubt regarding the recognition in Italy of a Radiologic Technology degree earned abroad.

Once students have met all the academic requirements for admission and graduation abroad, they must prepare the complete set of documentation related to their studies. These documents must be translated and officially certified to be reviewed by the Italian Ministry of Health.

After the recognition request has been submitted and examined by the competent authorities, the Ministry issues a formal Recognition Decree within 90 days.

Once this decree has been obtained, the degree awarded abroad holds the same legal value as one obtained in Italy, allowing graduates to practise the profession without distinction.
